In December 2012, Swope Health Services (SHS) selected CBC Real Estate Group to provide Owner’s Representative Services for construction of a 10,000 square-foot clinic at 11320 E. Truman Road in Independence, Mo. The new clinic, which replaced a smaller outdated one in the area, was completed in August 2014. The project was made possible in large part by a grant SHS received from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), which funded 87 percent of the clinic’s construction.
In cooperation with SHS staff, CBC facilitated all aspects of the development process, including assistance in purchasing the land, securing architecture and contractor partners, navigating the city permitting process, financial modeling, construction management and programming.
Designed to better serve clients in the Independence area, the new SHS clinic doubled in size, and features seven exam rooms, one procedure room, two dental exam rooms and multiple staff offices. Medical services include primary care medicine, chronic disease management, geriatric medicine and dental.
